Casamance Healthcare Systems was founded amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the pandemic did not halt the operations. The staff members were able to raise $26,000 to fund the organization’s first container. This first 40-foot-container of equipment filled with medical equipment and consumables worth 113 million West African CFA francs (about $170,000) was received by the Hôpital de la Paix of Ziguinchor on September 22, 2021.
